The original cut of The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford ran for over three hours according to its cinematographer Roger Deakins. We got a 2 hour and 45-minute version that was a product of studio pressure to make the film more commercial. We deserve to see this masterpiece in its intended form.
