To whomever, this may concern 

The student body of Cinco Ranch High school would like to tell you our frustration about how much homework we get. The teachers tell us to get a lot of rest and take care of ourselves but yet we don't have the opportunity to get the rest we need because we get pages of homework that we stay up late doing. I once emailed my teacher at 3 am asking her for help on my homework and she never responded because she was sleeping. Students come to school tired and then get yelled at for sleeping in class. The homework that our teachers think helps us actually hurt us. It hurts us because it stresses us out especially for the students who have jobs or after-school activities. Some students don't have anyone to ask for help with their homework. You may be wondering how does this affects you. This affects you because you won't get the grades that you need; it could also cause students to not come to school. They think that if they're not going to get help then what's the point of even coming to school. If I win this then the students of Cinco Ranch Highschool will have less homework. In the back of your head, you might be thinking what's in it for the teachers, well if we got less homework they wouldn't be as overwhelmed and they would start paying attention in class and making better grades which would bring the scores in the district. If I don't win then nothing will change. The students will still be overwhelmed by everything and continue to make bad grades. So please take this into consideration. Take the time to think about what it was like a teenager with a job and a family to take care of and still have homework to do.
