There are so many new people here and that brings us so much joy. So many people now know the term VACTERL association and TEF. That there means so much to so many people. I want to share something I wrote a few months ago about Oliver so you can know him.

His favorite color was yellow. He loved the sounds of birds and wind chimes. He hated the heat and new places. He hated when people wouldn’t say hi to him and most of all he hated his shots. He loved Elmo, Murry and Zoey from Sesame Street. He absolutely loved the Elmo Song and baby shark. He loved heavy rock(especially Bring Me The Horizon) and loved to dance. He loved his Mr sloth and before that his glow worm(now Atticus sleeps with him every night). Every toy went in his mouth, he loved His twin and he loved the sunlight. He loved Daisy(our cat), he loved to snuggle and he loved standing. He didn’t use his voice a lot but we always knew what he was saying. He looked at us in the eyes and we just knew what he wanted. He had 3 fingerprints on his right arm(I’m sad I don’t have a print from the not developed finger most people didn’t notice). He always was so proud of himself when he would do something new. He loved Mario and Daddy’s transformers. He was terrified of the bath because Mommy turned the shower on by accident at the new house. He loved his stacking cups and he loved his piggy bank. He loved his Perlman days(therapy) and he’d want to play with the other kids so bad. He loved balloons and as soon as one of us came home he’d wave bye bye to his nurses. He loved books and turning the pages. When he was at the hospital without us he made friends with his doctors and nurses. Oliver knew how to love everyone he met even if you poked him with a needle. He gave high fives before Atticus, he loved deeply and he never knew he had limitations. We told him everyday since before he was born that we believed in him. Every day we would said to him “I believe in you.” “You can do anything” “You’ll be okay” Oliver’s body failed him and his life was stolen. We are glad to have the memories we have to share for our lifetime. Oliver was never sick to us, he was never different, he was just our son, our Oliver.
