Justice for Christopher Chapa

The Issue

Some of y'all know the story about Christopher Chapa and a lot of y'all dont. Claudia Esquivel, age 22, used to date a good friend of mine and of many people from Galveston County, Christopher Chapa, age 27. This story went all the way to New York and I plan for it to go all over the world. I don't want to bring hate, I want Chris's story heard since he's unable to speak for himself. Chris was out last year in June, at the Float on Seawall blvd. in Galveston Texas watching the Spurs game with his brothers. When the bar closed at 2am he left to drop his brother off and went home where he thought it was gonna be okay but was proven different. From the time he got home to about maybe 3:20 or so (unknown the exact time), his girlfriend Claudia yelled and screamed at him, accused him of cheating, yelled at him for being out with his brothers, and so on. (So we are guessing because the way she loved to keep him from friends and family) She held Chris hostage for about 30 to 45 minutes at gun point and also in front of her 5 year old son. Chris just wanted to leave to stop the fighting so he tried leaving to go to his moms, while his back was turned Claudia shot him, all in front of her son who Chris was helping raise as his own. She then grabbed her son, turned out the lights hoping no one would find him and left the house to go to her mothers. When she left he was still alive and breathing, he died at the hospital which was maybe around 4 (we are believing because that's when some of the family heard about the tragic shooting), they had him (the victim) handcuffed to the bed because she lied saying he hit her and she shot him in self defense. Later, of course they ruled it as not self defense because Chris's back was turned when she shot him. Claudia was taken to jail on a $150,000 bond where a few days later got dropped to $40,000. Not only did they let a murderer out of jail still awaiting trial, but they never once took away her son who witnessed every bit of this. Her 5 year old son, who loved Chris, watched his own mother kill in cold blood and he's still in her custody. It angers the ones who care for Chris, how Galveston Justice System just don't seem to care. If a man were to have their child and smoke weed around them CPS would jump right on that, but a case where a mother shoots an innocent man in front of their child CPS never moves. What's wrong with that picture? State of Texas have you lost it? Only thing right now that she's got is an ankle monitor on her leg with NO restrictions, meaning she can party, drink, live a normal life as long as she's in before 6pm. How is any of that fair? How is that right? On top of that her family, who are law enforcement believing they can treat his family however they want, are going to Chris's family making threats to kill them and their friends. Excuse me for a second but umm if I'm not mistaken her family can't have no contact with his COP OR NOT, nor can they work on this case. See where I'm going with this? I want Chris's story heard and I want him to get justice finally so he's able to rest at peace. Please help get this story out around the world. His family deserves justice and so does he! Please take the time to sign this and pass it on. Have as many people as you can share this and sign it to help us seek justice for Christopher! In advance, thank you all very much. I know his family appreciates any and everything everyone does to find justice for Chris. #JusticeForChris #ChapaStyle #WeLoveYou #AlwaysRemembered
