CHURCHGOERS WHO CARE ABOUT ANIMALS: HELP SPREAD ANIMAL MINISTRIES TO YOUR CHURCH & CHURCHES EVERYWHERE

The Issue

PREFACE:

Recently, Stand Up for Dogs received some very enlightening feedback relating to another of our petitions which urges a “Pets-for-Life” commitment by churchgoers (and – by extension -- their friends, relatives and other contacts).

The following comments from a churchgoer in Simi Valley, CA  serve to remind us all of the opportunity to not only widely spread the critically important “Pets-for- Life” message but also to actively promote establishment of Animal Ministries in churches throughout the world.

This churchgoer wrote:  “I see that you are addressing the recognition of animals by churches. In my Center For Spiritual Living in Simi Valley, CA, we have an Animal Ministry. We are planning events to support 7 private rescues and shelters.”

ACTION URGED:

While churchgoers themselves are urged here to discuss possible formation of animal ministries with fellow church members and their ministers or priests, this petition also is being addressed to national and international/world councils of churches to request their support for furtherance of animal ministries everywhere.

Please view the web pages for the above animal ministry in Simi Valley. If your church does not already have an active animal ministry, we’d urge you to please consider advancing it as a possible model for your church.   (Go to www.cslsimi.org and then to the “About Us” drop down menu where you’ll see the:  Animal Ministry Mission Statement; Shelter/Rescue Needs; “Shelters We Support”;  Financial Request Form; and Pause for Paws Event Info.).

(Please also note that the information on the rescues that this animal ministry supports was in the process of being updated).
