In 2015 Balmaghie Parish Church closed after almost 220 years of service. The local community wish to keep it and its community hall for their use, but the church trustees have made an application to the Dumfries and Galloway Council to change its town planning zoning to residential - to turn it into a private house. There is still a working graveyard. There has been a church here since the 11th century. Please sign and share this petition to keep local history for future generations!
