A public statement from RMBC
The Issue
We call on Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council (RMBC) to make a public statement, with respect to the almost three-year long investigation into a Charity that supports those suffering from abuse, stating:
The governance under the Care Act 2014 that was put in place to ensure those with mental health issues were well supported and to ensure identities were absolutely protected.
Some Background
RMB Council meeting on Wednesday 24.7.19 Webcast and Mr Smith’s question
https://rotherham.public-i.tv/core/portal/webcast_interactive/435477
Mr J Smith is the father of an adult survivor of CSE
If you have time listen to his questions beginning at 25.54
Listen to Chris Read’s response at 29.07 - quote: “I am happy to come back to you in writing and get you a full answer to your question”
Chris Read has made a similar promise in the past and then not delivered.
If you have time it is also worth noting:
The petition addressed by Elizabeth from 17.37 to 20.14
The public questions from Liam and from Elizabeth (an adult survivor of CSE).
Introduction at 20.50
21.07 Liam's question, response, supplementary question and response … to 25.10
29.12 Elizabeth’s question
