Dear Amazing Supporters,

Thank you for continuing to spread the word about the Campaign to Rename Oakland Airport for Maggie Gee.

I'm happy and proud to say that we have now collected over 5,000 signatures. Additionally, our story is appearing in the Sunday, January 6th, edition of the San Francisco Chronicle (https://www.sfchronicle.com/bayarea/article/Oakland-International-Maggie-Gee-Airport-It-13510348.php If you are interested in seeing the other news coverage we have received thus far, you can check it out here: www.maggiegee.org/news

Your support is vital as we continue to push forward with this campaign. I have been told by multiple stakeholders that we have "zero chance of success", but what I have learned from Maggie and my grandmother (and many other inspiring women) is that there are no barriers to what can be achieved, just another door waiting to be opened.  It's time to charge through this door!

Please continue to encourage your friends and family to sign the petition (www.change.org/maggie If you are a California and/or Oakland resident, you can also help by contacting Senators Feinstein and Harris, Congresswoman Barbara Lee, and Mayor Libby Schaaf. Let them know that you want Oakland to be the home of our country's first major airport named for a woman and that you want them to publicly support our efforts.

We didn't receive enough interest after the last update to start a regular email blast, but if you are interested in more regular updates about the campaign, you can Like our Facebook page (www.facebook.com/maggiegeeairport

As my grandmother would say....

Carpe diem,

Tiffany
