Cut New Jersey's property taxes now!
Fight back now against New Jersey's highest-in-the-nation property taxes. This tax is driving seniors and families out of state. It rises $500 million every year, even with a 2 percent cap. It has been the top issue in the state for NINE YEARS, polls show. 146,000 people a year risk losing their homes to tax lien sales.
Tell your state leaders you want a property tax cut, not a $500-million-a-year hike. Sign the petition now to send a message to state leaders that you won't settle for caps or freezes. It's time to find a better way to fund schools and government without bankrupting homeowners.

This petition asks that the governor and legislative leaders work together to find a way to not only stop the rise of property taxes - now the highest in the nation - but to cut them by 10 percent by August 2016. The property tax crisis is the No. 1 issue on the mind of voters for the last nine years, and all economic indicators show that it is driving young couples, working families and senior citizens out of the state. If no action is taken, tens of thousands more residents will leave the state, taking billions of dollars in income with them. In just five years, $8.2 billion of taxable income has left the state, which has not been replaced by new workers.
