As we know, from the past years, all Iranian immigrant applications have been processed at Damascus Visa office in Syria.

Unfortunately because of the Syrian war, Damascus Visa office closed and citizenship and immigration Canada assigned Ankara Visa office in Turkey for all Iranian Immigrant applications.

Because Ankara visa office is responsible for all immigrant applications from: Turkey, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Georgia, Iran and also Business categories (investors and self-Employed persons) for Cyprus, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon and Syria, then the workload in that visa office is very high and it is a really busy visa office and in addition because of their limited resources (as they stated inside their official website) and also because of  the Canadian visa and Immigration staff's strike in 2013 the processing time for immigration applications in that visa office is really high now and as we can see in the official website of the citizenship and immigration Canada (CIC) the longest processing time in the world is belong to Ankara visa office in Turkey.

On the other hand, Government of Canada, in September 2012 disconnect the diplomatic relations with the government of Iran and closed its embassy in Tehran because of what told protest to human rights condition in Iran but as we can see in compare to other nationalities because of the longest processing time of Iranian immigration applications, it is a clear human rights violation for Iranian people at this time!

The petitioners are asking the citizenship and immigration of Canada to assign another visa office for Iranian people or dedicate more resources to Ankara visa office in Turkey and change the current longest processing time situation for Iranian immigrant applicants.
