Citizens of Chorley Borough Council have recently found out that their freedom to choose for their political party in one of the most important elections that has taken place for decades has been taken away from them.

The main parties are not up for choice and we have been left with only the ‘Green Party’ and the ‘Independent’ Party to choose from.

Whatever your political view may be, it is not right that the voters of Chorley Borough Council do not have the freedom to vote for the party they wish to back.

This is due to the speaker of the House if Commons, Lindsay Hoyle being in the Chorley constituency.

It is not a law or a rule that you cannot vote against the speaker but and old and outdated tradition that NEEDS to be updated and before  voting day on 12th December 2019.

Their are approximately 80,000 potential voters in Chorley who’s opinion and voices will not be heard!
