Fellow Citizens!!!

Our lives are at stake with the increasing environmental degradation seen in all our cities. One of the major reasons is the rampant clearing of vegetation in our cities for infrastructure and construction. My city is blessed with old grown trees, hills and natural riverside landscapes known as heritage trees as they give the city its uniqueness. I see all these vanishing day by day making my city just like any other city. I feel I am losing myself somewhere in this chopping business, need for consideration and conscious decision making is missing in all this chaos.  

Please urgently join me in saving irreplaceable 50+ year old heritage riverside trees along the riverbanks of the Mula, Mutha, and Ramnadi rivers in Pune, Maharashtra from being bulldozed and concreted over in the name of Pune’s River Front Development (RFD) Project, by signing this petition now!

Join me in demanding that: 
1. The PMC and PCMC immediately stop the felling of trees along Pune’s riverbanks for the Riverfront Development Project, and endangering the lives and property of Pune’s citizens through the threat of increased floods, and 
2. Collaborate with citizens groups to follow an alternative approach to conserve and strengthen  the riverbank, protecting the natural riparian vegetation and topography, and stopping dumping of debris. 

Together, let’s raise our voices to ensure that urban development does not come at the cost of our precious natural heritage and our safety from floods.
