Support for full exoneration of Macomb Dakota football players and coaches

Support for full exoneration of Macomb Dakota football players and coaches
The Issue
Dakota football is a large, family like program. The coaches dedicate endless hours to the program and the boys. They aren’t only coaches, they are mentors and friends.
After a respectable and well deserved win over their district rivals, Chippewa Valley HS, the Dakota football team headed back to their school. At Dakota they were met by a Dakota father who was also a CVHS alumni. As the team exited the buses the father placed his old football jacket on the concrete and ignited it. He told his sons years ago that if they ever beat their rivals on their home field he’d burn his beloved jacket. As the boys exited the bus, some stopped to look at what was going on, others went on. The players and coaches had no prior knowledge that the parent was going to do this. None of the coaches or players participated in this act. The father has publicly apologized and accepted full responsibility, stating no other persons were involved, he acted alone.
The boys and coaches were initially blamed. Shockingly the Dakota head coach was suspended just hours before the next playoff game. Unsurprisingly, Dakota lost the game due in part to absence of their leader.
The CVS administration has failed to fully exonerate our boys and coaches. We find this appalling and demand the players and coaches be fully exonerated in a public statement from CVS Administration.
