Allow Lindsay Grey Access to Putnam County Animals

Allow Lindsay Grey Access to Putnam County Animals
The Issue
Lindsay Grey loves animals, she gives of herself, her time and her heart to try to help animals in Putnam County Animal Control and surrounding Shelters find a way out. She has taken upon herself to do whatever she can to find them forever homes, rescues or fosters to get them out of the shelter and to give them a chance at a future. Lindsay Grey is one of the many voices that speak for the voiceless, for the abused, abandoned and forgotten animals in kill shelters like the one in Putnam County. Lindsay has given her time and love to the animals at Putnam County but she has also given them hope, her photos and videos show the reality of each and everyone of these animals. Her interaction with these animals show us all a side of them that might not come through in pictures, their wagging tails and smiling faces at her affection, it can also show their sadness, fear and confusion. What Lindsay Grey does for these animals should be applauded by the officials of Putnam County but instead she has been banned from the facility.
She was advised November 24th that she is no longer permitted to go to Putnam County Animal Control as they don’t consider AC to be public property and she would be escorted away by the police.
She is certain this is retaliation for her posting information about the lack of parvo vaccines on the animal intake sheets. AC cannot proclaim to the news media that they welcome transparency if they will then seek to punish those who merely report their actions. Rather than be upset that it became public knowledge they weren’t able to vaccinate, they should be upset that they didn’t have any vaccines on hand. They’d rather shoot the messenger than correct the message.
If they are truly committed to helping animals get out of the shelter and avoiding euthanasia then they should be willing to work with everyone, including people they may not like. The animals are the ones who matter in all of this, Lindsay Grey helps the animals and the animals need her.
We are asking that she be allowed in to help the animals, time is of the essence. Show us you are trying to make things better for the animals Putnam County, show us that what you say is true. Give the animals a chance, allow Lindsay Grey to photograph and video tape the animals at the shelter, lift the ban, let her back in!
