Save Chino started this petition to Chino City Council & Chino Planning Commission

Developers are purchasing farm land across the city and are attempting to rezone the land so they may build more housing units than described in our current General Plan.

Small local farms are essential to a healthy community.

It is up to our community to stand against the developers and protect these lands for future generations.

If we fail, it will set a precedent for other builders to come in and continue to rezone farmland. Not only are we losing our history and heritage, but Chino is also at risk of increasing air, water, noise pollution & traffic congestion.

“The Chino Valley, located at the foot of an alluvial plain with fertile topsoil reaching depths of 4 feet, was an agricultural mecca from the 1890s up through the mid 20th century. Sugar beets were a significant part of the economy in the early 1900s, followed by sweet corn (marketed as "Chino corn" throughout the Pacific coast area), peaches, walnuts, tomatoes, and strawberries. The city's official logo/crest features an overflowing cornucopia.”
