2020年12月28日，公民记者张展被以“寻衅滋事罪”判处四年有期徒刑。
自2020年6月底以来，张展已在看守所持续绝食抗议，遭强制插管灌食折磨，身体极其虚弱的她坐着轮椅出庭。
辩护律师说张展健康状况急剧恶化。他们为张展向上海浦东法院申请取保候审及庭审直播，但均无回音。

Chinese citizen journalist Zhang Zhan was sentenced to 4 years in prison for “picking quarrels and provoking trouble” on 28 December 2020.
Having been on a hunger strike and subjected to force-feeding via a nasal tube since the end of June, Zhang Zhan was so weak that she had to be wheeled into the courtroom.
Her lawyers said that her health was quickly deterioriating. Their requests to the court to release Zhan on bail before the trial and to livestream the trial were ignored.
We strongly denounce the Chinese authorities' repression of freedom of speech and press and persecution of citizen journalists.
