We had a great meeting with Senator Ortt's office this morning in Lockport, NY and had a wonderful, productive conversation with District Director, Andrew Dugan, who provided us a path forward and a direction towards results.  He was confident that the easiest of the changes we seek is having the OCFS regulations categorized by severity classification and will directly, positively affect our insurability.

Many have asked how they can help and participate.  There are several ways!

  • Sign and share the petition to spread the word and show the OCFS, state, and politicians the support and attention these issues have!
  • Senator Ortt's office recommended we have our network of supporters contact their local representative and let them know about these issues and the actions we need to see!  Template and representative contact information to come soon!
  • Child Care Advocacy Day is on February 6th, 2024 and we will be looking for attendance and support from providers statewide to meet in Albany and lobby for change for our industry with us.  Mark your calendars, more information to follow.
  • If you have a story relating to the oppressive regulatory system, unfairness of the current system, and/or negative impact the enforcement policies have had on your program and your life, please share your story anonymously so we can fight for justice!  Send your story to nyschildcareowners@gmail.com

We are still waiting for the OCFS to respond to the last correspondence from the previous post update and will restart our daily provider stories to reignite the conversation.
