I am writing this petition to ask that the State of Texas change its laws making it a crime a felony crime to interfere with a court ordered child visitation! Also that if a occursmurder during this court ordered visit be an automatic capital offense! Also, to enhance any assault that might occur during a court ordered child visit. Nov 5th 2021 Chad Read was shot dead in-front of his children and wife trying to pick up his son for his court ordered visit following an argument with his ex wife over the location of his son and her boyfriend shot and killed him! There are hundreds of parents that have court ordered visits that don’t see their children and the sheriff isn’t any help. It is a time filled process that robs parents of the right to see their children after the court has already given them the right to do so! Chad Read’s death was so unnecessary. He only wanted his son who was being kept from and he died! We have got to do something about the parents and parental parties that have these court orders and ignore them! In honor of Chad’s memory and children I named this petition after him! This has to stop somewhere and people need support by our justice system to ensure their rights to see their children are protected! Please join me in bringing this to the attention of the Texas Government and lets make this a law for Chad Read and so many others who are kept from their children with court order in hand! The parents are robbed of their children! Children are robbed of their parents the emotional trauma is destructive to their well being! The fact that visits are being ordered by the court and  being ignored has gone on way too long! Now ultimately someone lost their life just trying to have the visit the court ordered them to have! We need to stand up and protect a parents rights to see their children and protect the children from people trying to rob them of their time with their parents!
