After separating from my ex-wife I took it upon myself to open a child support case for my children. I made this decision because I believed it to be the responsible thing to do for my 2 daughters... Little did I know what I was getting into.

Both me and my ex sat in a room with a rep who took my check stubs and asked me a few questions pertaining to my financial situation. 

She quietly calculated some numbers and entered the information into the computer. She then printed out several pages and began to explain the terms to my ex being very articulate and focused on the numbers. She asked her if she was ok with that to which my ex answered "yes."

The rep then turned to me and asked me to sign the paper. At that time I believed that was the standard and the nature of these meetings. I vaguely remember now but I do believe I asked if I had to sign it. The rep exclaimed "it's an order, yes you do".

I signed my life away!

I lost about 85% of my daughters' lives!

I fell into an enormous debt with the state after wrongfully losing my job!

No relief!

Child Support office treated me like scum despite me opening the case!

My daughters suffered in silence for the absence of their father!

This is the story of many of the non-custodial fathers and mothers locked into a contract with Child Support Title IV agency. And the sad truth is that the great majority of them were unaware that they are signing into a contract and they do it under duress.

"MANY OF THEM ARE UNAWARE THAT THEY ARE SIGNING INTO A CONTRACT AND THEY DO IT UNDER DURESS"

I now understand that this violates contract law and makes it a fraudulent contract. The Child Support division needs reform!
