Dear Sir,

As you might already know, the travel options between Kerala and Bangalore is very hard. Despite the ever-rising number of passengers and demand, there is very less number of trains from different parts of Kerala to Bangalore. A lot of people including IT professionals, students, elderly citizens, tourists, etc. visit Bangalore for various purposes.

The condition of the bus option to Bangalore is also not different. The private bus rates from Trivandrum to Bangalore costs anything between Rs 2500/- and Rs 4000/-. The bus operators charge fares without any benchmark and according to their wishes. There are no standard rates charged for private buses in this route. Also, note that Bangalore - Trivandrum is one of the most sought-after bus routes in South India. State-owned KSRTC buses are very less in number and do not cope up to the standards and timings of the growing demand.

That being the situation, private bus operators are showing their real colors to passengers and are taking them for granted. Passengers are at the mercy of these people to make their travel plans. Very recently, a most unfortunate event happened in one of the popular Kerala based private bus operator, where 2 young students were manhandled by the bus operators for questioning the delay in bus timings.  This is the Facebook post written by one of the fellow passengers in the same bus, and it was taken well by social media. https://www.facebook.com/Jacobphilip0/posts/10220404188880671

This incident got wide media coverage, some of which are as follows:

In this situation and in the light of such incidents, we on behalf of Kerala Bengaluru Train Users Forum (KBTUF)  bring to your kind attention the following proposal: Currently Kochuveli - Banaswadi Humsafar Express (16319) runs only on Thursday and Saturday evenings from Kochuveli. Similarly, Banaswadi – Kochuveli Humsafar Express (16320) runs only on Friday and Sunday evenings from Banaswadi.

It will be very useful to thousands of travelers from Kerala if these trains are run DAILY. It caters to the needs of Keralites covering Palakkad, Thrissur, Ernakulam, Kottayam, Kollam, and Trivandrum.

Kindly look into this matter urgently and make the decision to run these trains daily. This will sort out most of the problems faced by travelers in Kerala – Bengaluru route. Hope there will be a positive response from the authorities.
