The Museum of Fire closed on Friday, 28th October. No announcement. No Closing Ceremony. Inexplicably, the University of Edinburgh Art College demanded immediate vacant possession ! Museum exhibits have been packed by the Volunteers and are being removed to storage. The relocation of the Museum from the 19th century Victorian Central Fire Station to a 1960's concrete Fire Station outwith the city centre may take place, some time in the future, but is dependent on planning permission, funding and the work of the Volunteers. For information, the Office of the First Minister has reiterated that the decision to sell the home of the Museum was made by her Scottish Fire and Rescue Service Fire Board. You may wish to add your final thoughts to the petition before the petition is closed. You may also wish to communicate directly to FirstMinister@gov.scot and the Fire Board. (pat.watters@firescotland.gov.uk jamescampbell@firescotland.gov.uk etc.) Thank you all for your support.
