This is our family dog Sandy. She is a red nose Pitbull. She was shot multiple times Tuesday night and killed by  Warren Twp police officers during a dog fight with a neighbors dog. BOTH DOGS WERE FIGHTING EACH OTHER. When I was screaming crying asking WHY my dog was killed, one officer replied because “she’s the Pitbull”. And I have that on recording. Our dog was unfairly shot and profiled just because she is a Pitbull. While I was sick to my stomach and devastated I had to take pictures of our dead dog because we cannot let this go, something needs to be done. No mace was tried on the dogs either. I’ve left messages to the Lieutenant, chiefs secretary, officers involved and NONE have returned my calls. I’ve called ASPCA and that was a joke. The cops also said there were no body or dash cams. If ANY ANIMAL is provoked they WILL defend themself! I was also told by authority involved numerous times to not make any waves with the department or they can retaliate and “deem all of our dogs dangerous, remove them from our home and euthanize them all”. So naturally we became/are afraid. Reassurance from our vet in town and others, none of this was ok or legal. We don’t want blood money, we want justice for Sandy and every other Pit bull because she sadly won’t be the last. I have to do something and I don’t know where to start, so I’ll begin here. Not all Pit bulls are bad. It’s how any dog is raised! Just like people aren’t born assholes. They’re taught to be assholes!! Any advice how to go about this is welcomed. I want the officers who killed Sandy to have consequences for their actions.
