This is NOT a petition but a means to spread the news about the law not being followed.

I am asking CONTRIBUTORS & FORMER CONTRIBUTORS to the Canadian Forces Service Income Support Insurance Plan (SISIP) Long Term Disability plan to give communal "SPECIFIC DIRECTIONS" to the Chief of Defence Staff.

National Defence Act s. 39 requires the CDS to obey "specific directions" from contributors.

That is because it is our money being held in TRUST!

As such, we the undersigned, give the following SPECIFIC DIRECTIONS in accordance with the duly passed NDA s. 39(1):

1. Cease all offsets immediately. It is no benefit to us for the Administrator to offset collateral sources. The pension clawback was judged to be UNLAWFUL already;

2. Amend the policy to reinstate benefits for LIFE! This was the case from 1969 - 1995 & we were not consulted when this term was removed.

3. Eliminate the exclusionary clause for Reservists where they have to be "on duty" to be covered as THIS EFFECTIVELY ELIMINATES COVERAGE as it makes SISIP similar to WCB & VAC benefits. Either of these sources cover "on duty" disablement.

4. Increase benefits to 90% instead of 75%.

5. Tender the policy so as to comply with paragraph 4.81 of the 2012 OAG FALL Report, chapter 4. Public tendering will help our Trust save money.

6. Add Widow or Survivor protection like the Pension Act pension.

7. Make it tax free as SISIP is now being used a FIRST Payer in the event of a service injury, so it is akin to Workers' Compensation.

Many of these items are what veterans' want so this could be an expedient solution. 

For example, the government announced Lifetime benefits & a 90% rate for ELB so the implication is that is where they re going anyway!
