AEE through OPSC exams

The Issue

Respected sir
I would like to bring it to your concern that we the aspirants preparing for Assistant Executive Engineer want the exam of Engineering services exam as earlier which was conducted by OPSC rather than GATE due to following reasons

1. GATE pattern is totally different from OPSC AEE,
It requires more numerical ability only,
highly advance level exam & needs proper mentorship, guidance and Coaching which most of the students cannot afford.

while OPSC AEE is more about theoretical, conceptual & numerical approach moreover it's syllabus is quite different from GATE,
we are preparing for this particular exam since many years, We will suffer a huge loss.

2. High fees of GATE (1500 Rs) while for OPSC we used to pay only (500Rs) & not every year AEE recruitment is done so how long a candidate should prepare for GATE and keep filling up the form?

3. GATE is not an adequate exam for recruitment of engineers thats why not a single PSC is considering GATE scores for recruitment of engineers in the govt dept let it be UPSC or any state services like MPPSC, UPPSC, MPSC, APPSC, APSC, TNPSC etc

Everyone is conducting their own exams.
UPSC is conducting engineering services every year for recruitment of engineers for various departments because they know GATE exam is not sufficient for recruitment of officers .

Even group A post exams like Odisha Civil Services (OCS), (Odisha Judicial Service)OJS, (Odisha Forest Services) OFS etc are being conducted by OPSC then why not OES.

Even on order number - 1232, date- 19/2/2020
OPSC has clearly mentioned that GATE is not suitable exam for recruitment of GROUP- A engineering services

4. Many students have left their private jobs to prepare for this particular exam & sudden changing the pattern everytime will jeopardize their career.

5.OPSC AEE syllabus has similiar Syllabus with ESE and other state Exams. Which helps students to prepare for most of the examinations.

6- Few core topics were also removed from Gate Syllabus after a revision of 2020 which consist of core engineering topics

- Noise pollution
- Theory of failures
- Parking study &
- Traffic Signs
-Highway alignment and
engineering surveys
- Quality Control
Distresses in concrete
pavements
- Travel time delay and O-D
study, PCU
- Parking study
- Control devices
- Types of Channelization
- Level of service of rural
highways and urban roads
-- Bricks, Mortar & Timber
- Origin of soil, soil structure
and fabric
- Westergaards theory
- Building Materials

7. By recruitment through GATE examination can impact the quality of MTech students through GATE.
Students will prepare for GATE for getting into AEE & Mtech will be their backup option which will impact a quality of professor in Odisha & after getting selected in AEE they will leave Mtech seats & the Mtech seats will remain vacant & the deserving candidates will not get the seats.
It will create a huge impact in teaching profession.
Teaching profession will become their second priority

8. If government will recruit AEE through GATE then students have to fully prepare for GATE only which is conducted once every year. And no other options will left to them which is quite unfair for Students.
Single Exam for Whole year

I hope the higher authorities will take a decision in the favour of students taking all of the above points into account.

Thank you
