Subject: Proposed ‘Industrial Township’ status for Taloja MIDC

                                                       Or

Are we going to be administered by ‘Panvel Municipal Corporation’.

 

Respected Sir,

We at Taloja Industries Association (T.I.A) would like to brief all Industries in MIDC-Taloja on the importance of ‘Industrial Township Status’ for Taloja MIDC.

We wish to remind all Industries here that, it was us, Taloja Industries Association (T.I.A) who had retaliated with the government authorities on the anti expansion ‘River Policy’ and got the same deleted, thereby freeing hundreds of Industries in the Taloja MIDC, Chemical & New Chemical zones to expand and facilitate the also to change of product activity. This initiative has helped many Industries to progress and we, Taloja Industries Association (T.I.A) has assured Industries in MIDC-Taloja that, we will always stand by themwhenever their progress is disturbed by such government policies. In fact Taloja Industries Association (T.I.A), had left no stone unturned, to get MIDC to sanction over 150 crore plus budget for Civil works (Concretizing of Roads) not only of the Engineering zone, but the entire Main road of Taloja-MIDC. The work is still in progress and is due for early completion. Our effort in this context has helped tremendously the infrastructural growth thereby benefitting all Big, Medium & Small Scale Industries at MIDC-Taloja. 

T.I.A would like to bring to your notice that, once again we are faced with another major concern, which we believe will have overall undesirable implications for all of the Industries. The issue is that of ‘Taloja-MIDC’ being handed over to the nearest (Panvel Municipal Corporation) for overall administration.  

Due to this proposal, our Industrial Identity is at stake, inculcating the need of our earlier proposal, that of ‘Industrial Township’ status. This subject of Industrial Township was first initiated by Shri. Satish Anand Shetty (Anna), Hon President -T.I.A, during the MIDC launch of the Mumbai Delhi Industrial corridor at a function in Alibaug. The C.E.O of MIDC, Shri. Bhushan Gagrani was also present on that occasion and when asked by our T.I.A President, he did sent a positive indication by stating that he doesn’t mind taking this as a Pilot project on a trial basis with MIDC-Taloja. On the second occasion, Shri Satish Anand Shetty (Anna) had once again brought out this subject with him in a separate meeting at MIDC Andheri Head office and to this, Shri. Bhushan Gagranihad requested for an intent letter from both the Associations in MIDC Taloja (T.I.A & TMA) to initiate the process. Finally this could happen after long follow up from T.I.A. 

Shri Satish Anand Shetty (Anna) have time and again brought out this subject in many of the meetings in MIDC Taloja to create awareness that, it would not be in the best interest of all Industries, if MIDC-Taloja is handed over to ‘Panvel Municipal Corporation’ for administration. Industries are only cash cows and not a vote banks for all political parties. This could also create new hurdles like Octroi, LBT, Cess and Property tax for Industries in Taloja MIDC, besides constant visits by none other than the political party’s heads, at our operational units will probably deviate our attention and focus from our regular run of business. Further this definitely does not look like an ideal situation after our long liaison with the capable and industry friendly officers of MIDC.

Hence we at Taloja Industries Association (T.I.A) would like to have a consensus on this issue and ask all Industry members on your preference & suggestions on this hot &burning issue.

Would you prefer an Industrial Township status or get governed by Panvel Municipal Corporation??? The call is all yours; wake up, take action much before the disaster strikes.

We at T.I.A plan to arrange a seminar for awareness on this subject at an earliest date. We will inform all concerned industries about date and time. We do hope this matter is taken up with a lot of seriousness, else we our self, will be responsible for our delay & might have to face the consequences.
