Devendra Fadnavis file charge sheet in court for Kopardi rape & murder case.
The Issue
On July 13 2016 between 6.45pm and 7.30pm, the victim teenager girl was returning from meeting her grandfather. She was allegedly accosted by three men, who gang-raped her before strangling her.
The accused have been booked under IPC sections 376 (punishment for rape), 302 (murder) and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. But even after 82 days of the rape and murder of teennager girl in Kopardi in Ahmednagar district, the local police is yet to file the charge-sheet in court.
If police unable to file charge sheet within 90 days then accused may get bail.
The police superintendent of Ahmednagar district said, few reports regarding the Kopardi case are awaiting, therefore there is a delay. When journalist asked to provide details of the reports awaited he refused to comment.
