Assam the land of one horned rhino also the best habitate for tigers, elephants, leopards, wild asiatic water buffalo and many others. Poachers regularly killing rhinos and other animals. Sanctuaries, National Parks are under threats of land encroachment. System of Government financial support to the wildlife divisions not proper. Wildlife need 24 hours vigilance but Govt. treat it as other general dept. Wildlife div. get fund only during year ending. Many time officers have to manage sanctuaries with his own money. Finance dept. not clear fund in time and regularly. Officers think wildlife posting as punishment. In Kaziranga officers have to divert development fund to host VIPs. Wildlife divisions have their wing for regular interaction with fringe villagers. Wildlife Divisions should equiped with young, motivated , fully armed personals . Wildlife div. need regular financial support for petroling , rescue, intelligence, operation against poachers and other emergency duty. After offering 15 yrs service wildlife personals should be rewarded with their deserving post. Government should instruct all development agencies to give priority to forest fringe village to minimize dependency on forest. Wildlife Ministry must be under control of Chief Minister and free from all kind of political interference.
