Christians are being persecuted continuously in Kerala especially the Catholic Church. Jalandhar Bishop Franco Mulakkal was implicated in a fabricated case given by a nun of The missionaries of Jesus living in kuruvilangad,She was facing an enquiry by her congregation for financial misappropriation of funds of the congregation and leading an adulterous life with her cousin's husband.The said nun accused the Bishop of molesting her using his power for13 times on different occasions .Thesaid nun claimed that she could produce ample evidence ,such as 10 pendrives,15 CD'S mobile phone s and witnessing several nuns to substantiate her  complaint.But upon police investigation they were not able to find a single evidence against the Bishop..Still they arrested him put him in jail for 21  days from September 21 ,2018 on political pressures and other anti social groups like AMT,SOS in Ernakulam.Now the sessions court Kottayam has lifted off his bail and issued arrest warrant for his absence in the court on July 13,2020 Even after his advocate has submitted due govt records showing his Covid positive and E-travel pass rejection..The bishop fears that he would be denied justice.
