Over 400 families have been displaced from Naya Nazimabad, with our homes still submerged in water for over 21 days and yet after torrential rain.

Because of the lack of proper drainage in the area, our society was flooded after last year’s rain too, but not at this scale and intensity. We were told this will not be experienced again in the upcoming years, but seems like it was nothing but lies.  Our entire ground floor is under water, the flooding has ruined all the furniture, appliances, and everything in our houses.

Dewatering measures are taking place - but at a slow pace which is already testing our patience. The society’s management has abandoned everyone & is of no use to us.

Hence, we want to involve higher authorities to dewater the area so we can shift back to our houses asap. Furthermore, we want compensation for our losses (already we were facing financial crises due to COVID & now the devastation of our homes).
