National Women Lawyers Society is appalled to learn that NO woman is included in the 16 nominations for Lahore High Court judges’ appointment sent to the Judicial Commission. The lack of women representation in our senior judiciary remains a source of embarrassment and frustration, especially considering that we are living in the 21st century. The disadvantage experienced by women applicants to judicial office is rooted in deeply entrenched structural discrimination and exclusion. National Women Lawyers Society strongly condemns this under-representation of women in senior judiciary and calls for all lawyers, women and men, to come together and demand greater female representation. Our judicial system must provide equal opportunities for all. Join us and sign this petition to put an end to discrimination in judicial appointments against qualified and capable women lawyers.
