Please Save Trees On Jessore Road

0 have signed. Let’s get to 75,000!

A road-expansion project requires the killing of 4500 trees on both sides of the NH-35 and Jessore Road, which stretches from Kolkata airport to Petrapole border via Barasat, the state government has chalked out a number of plans. Recently PWD officials and the officials of the ministry of road were also discussing on the issue as to how much trees have to be felled for the widening work. According to estimates, about 4500 trees would have to be chopped off.

4500 isn't a small number. With the raging global warming and adverse environmental changes, even cutting of one tree counts. Chopping off 4500 trees will result in severe habitat loss of the organisms dwelling in the trees and in support of the trees. The effects of deforestation isn't unknown to anyone. Thus, let us come together, protest against the mass butchering of trees. Please Save Trees, Save our environment.
