Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service are attempting to downgrade Fire Cover in the Evesham area. Currently, Evesham Fire Station provides a 24/7 365 day a year Wholetime Fire Engine, Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service are proposing to downgrade this fire cover to Monday to Friday 08.40 to 18.00 Wholetime cover, night times and weekends will be Retained/Part time cover.

This, the Fire Brigade Union believe is unacceptable due to the fact that Retained/Part time Fire Crews whilst they are highly professional Firefighters who do a fantastic job providing fire cover, simply cannot be guaranteed.

The next nearest Wholetime, guaranteed Fire Engine is either Redditch or Worcester. 

Evesham and it's surrounding area needs and deserves a Wholetime Fire Engine to provide cover in and around this rapidly expanding town.
