Petition updateShut down the Canidrome, the world's deadliest greyhound racetrack.Macau government responds

GREY2K USA Worldwide
Oct 6, 2015
Your efforts to decry the killing and cruelty of dog racing at the Canidrome are working! The Chief Executive has ordered a community study to be conducted to find out what local people think about dog racing and to analyze the financial viability of the track. The license will remain in place during the pendency of the study.
Meanwhile, our allies on the ground will continue to inform their neighbors of the problems (humane and economic), so that the study reveals the obvious: that dog racing at the Canidrome is cruel, inhumane and not a good use of valuable land in one of the most densely populated places in the world!
Thank you to everyone who participated in our worldwide vigil for the greyhounds of Macau. On September 30, advocates in ten countries held organized events, while thousands of supporters posted their photos of personal vigils for the greyhounds. The incredible response to the #CloseTheCanidrome campaign has the attention of Macau government! Let's keep fighting until the beautiful day comes when this terrible place is finally gone. #closeTheCanidrome
