Give us a Police Constable for Whitstable

The Issue

Whitstable Police Station was closed in 2012. Since then crime has increased a staggering 49%.

In the twelve months leading up to the closure of our police station, 1,947 crimes were committed in Whitstable. Last year over the same period we recorded 2,910.

Everyone's council tax has recently gone up to pay for 90 extra community police officers across Kent. We want one of these to be a new town centre Constable for Whitstable, an additional resource who will provide ‘visible reassurance’ to local people and work with local PCSO's to tackle crime in our area.
