Due to Covid-19 and CUSD school closures, Chico Unified secondary schools are using the program Edgenuity for their online learning system. I am glad that our school district is helping students continue to learn during this time however, Edgenuity is NOT the best solution.

Overall, Edgenuity has a lot of technological problems, is extremely frustrating and hard to progress through.  Edgenuity has poorly written curriculum with poor quality videos with no opportunity for students to engage in real time. Many students report the videos are patronizing to their intelligence and 'talk down' to them.  The course load with homework assignments that take numerous hours to complete PER CLASS is unacceptable. Additionally, students have already found countless resources on how to cheat while using the Edgenutiy platform. This system has  already brought down grades, slowed down learning and decreased student morale.

In such a time of a global pandemic, school shouldn’t be causing students and parents this much stress. Edgenutiy is guaranteed to stifle a love of learning for students.

CUSD, your students are not learning or thriving using Edgenuity. Change it now!
