#SaveSwiftCreekBerryFarm

Our beloved "pick your own" blueberry farm, Swift Creek Berry Farm & Greenhouse is set to be runout by Chesterfield County with the extension of Powhite Parkway.

Swift Creek Berry Farm is a small family owned and operated business that has provided plants, fresh blueberries & firewood to the community for almost 40 years. Multiple generations of Goodes have lived here and worked fulltime to turn this farm into a successful pick your own blueberry farm and plant nursery. Business is growing along with their offerings which now include pumpkins, honey and produce and a new generation of Goodes are already helping out so that they can one day continue the blueberry tradition for our community.

We ask that they find a better spot that doesn't hurt this treasured small business.

Update- 2023

The Upper Magnolia project that our supervisor, Kevin Carroll proposed and put forward to the Board of Supervisors (and then voted against even though it was HIS project... He thinks we won't remember when it comes time to vote November of 23), passed despite strong community opposition. So now there is a renewed push to fund this road extension. Please help us Save the Berry Farm. We need a new board of supervisors that cares about small businesses in Moseley. Please visit Chip4Chesterfield.com to learn about your alternative to our current board member. We need to get developer money out of elections!

2019- Chesterfield County is having a townhall/community meeting on December 16th 2019 at 7pm. They will be discussing changing the zoning of over 2,000 acres for what is called "Upper Magnolia East & West". This project depends on the extension of Powhite that will go straight through the SBF.  They will be streaming on facebook live, youtube and will be broadcasted on the county's tv station, Comcast channel 98/Verizon channel 28. The meeting will be held in the public meeting room located at 10001 Ironbridge Rd. "In person" seating limited due to Covid (or maybe because they don't want to see us or answer questions that aren't perfectly curated). Possibility of a gathering outside to show support for the Swift Creek Berry Farm.

Help us tell Chesterfield to slow down. We need time and more information. They need a better plan and more community input before they make final decisions. And  we especially do not want to lose our precious local treasure that is Swift Creek Berry Farm.

Sign this petition to tell them that we are paying attention to this project. More info to follow on ways to help. Thank you all!
