Stop cars driving along the footpath on South Crofts - Cars should be on the highway

This petition had 107 supporters

The Issue

South Crofts is a busy pedestrian route into Nantwich. The footpath is also a route used by those with visual impairments and is a shared access route with dropped kerbs at each end of the footpath. Vehicles are driving along the footpath in order to pass parked cars as the road is not wide enough to allow a parked car and a passing vehicle. Cheshire Police and Cheshire East Council must take action to move the parked cars and allow vehicles to safely use the highway before someone is seriously injured or killed by a vehicle on the footpath. Cheshire East Council should work with the affected local residents to identify alternative safe parking for the displaced vehicles on local car parks through a residents parking scheme.
