The parking on old Middlewich road Sandbach has been removed (this is used by many elderly and disabled people) and an approximate 70yd cycle lane has been installed with black and white bollards cordoning it off, this is not only unwanted but also not in keeping with the character of our beautiful historic town. This cycle lane has been installed with no consultation to local businesses whatsoever at a cost of £20.777 and many cyclists and cycle groups have expressed their dismay and said they won’t use it, this exits onto a roundabout with a blind view of traffic coming from the right, the other end comes off the road across a pavement. Many people have expressed concern over safety and the actual need for this cycle lane that was installed during lockdown when many businesses were closed so they couldn’t express their views.This will affect many already impacted by covid restrictions businesses and their elderly and disabled customers. Please help us get Cheshire East Council to admit this cycle lane isn’t needed and remove it and reinastate the parking both sides of the road. Thank you
