Investigate and stop animal rights abuses at the Educational Institute for the Gifted

This petition made change with 900 supporters!

The Educational Institute for the Gifted at Cheongju National University of Education is an elite school that cultivates scientific talent among gifted children in Cheongju, South Korea. Although it is one of the most prestigious organizations in Korea, the Institute condones unsavory practices towards animals. Please sign my petition for Cheongju National University of Education to investigate its organization, increase supervision, and put an end to any cruel experiments conducted at the Educational Institute for the Gifted.

At the Institute, scientific experiments are at times inhumane: frogs are boiled alive and placed in acidic solutions, while mice and rabbits are vivisected--they're subjected to cruel procedures in which vital organs are removed before they get stapled back up. Moreover, the students have free rein to treat the live animals as they wish--there are even reports of a student cutting off a rabbit's ears.

Although animal experiments exist all over the world, I am calling on CNUE to uphold its noble purpose and be an example, to be mindful of animal rights, and to have greater oversight over the experiments conducted in its facilities.

Please sign my petition asking Cheongju National University of Education to investigate its organization, the Educational Institute for the Gifted, and to phase out all abusive practices within its science labs.
