The COVID-19 pandemic has been an unprecedented situation causing education institutions around the world to stop conducting traditional classes. This is also the situation in our beloved state Karnataka, where it is now probable of having online classes for the rest of 2020.

Unlike traditional offline classes, online classes limits the interaction between students and teachers. Other than just classes, activities such as workshops, conferences, seminars play a crucial role in a college student’s life. Also, practical lab activity is very important for science students, and, it is almost impossible to obtain the same practical knowledge through online classes. Education isn’t just attending classes and writing exams, it involves various co-curricular and academic activities, which benefit students with the knowledge to succeed in the outside world.

Therefore, we the students from various colleges and universities in Karnataka want to suggest the suspension of all forms of online classes and to compensate that, offline classes can be started from January 2021. Almost every university offer students 1 month of vacation in January and 2 months of vacation during June-July. Instead of getting online classes in 2020, we would prefer having offline classes throughout 2021 without any form of vacation or break, so that it would be possible to complete the syllabus efficiently.

Hence, we request the concerned authorities to consider this request and act according to welfare of students.
