Please urge popular plant-based NYC restaurant By Chloe, (soon to open additional locations), to stop using glue traps, (aka glue boards), as a method of rodent control. Glue traps are widely recognized as the most inhumane method of pest control, and they do nothing to address the root cause of infestation. According to the Humane Society of the United States: "Glue boards are responsible for more suffering than virtually any other wildlife control product on the market. Most animals caught in glue boards suffer slow and agonizing deaths." According to HSUS, it may take 3-5 days for an animal to die, and most glue traps are thrown in the trash whether the animal is alive or dead. Glue traps not only cause immense suffering, they do nothing to eliminate rodent problems. Controlling rodent populations must focus on the removal of the cause and source.
