Make the greyhound racing industry pay for its own relocation.

Christchurch City (NZ) is still recovering from its earthquake disaster, and the City Council is planning on spending $450,000 relocating the greyhound racing club.
The racing industry in New Zealand Racing Board had turnover of over 2 BILLION dollars for the 2014 year (NZRB Annual report 2014), and had profits exceeding 130 MILLION, so why should cash strapped Christchurch have to pay for the relocation of a very wealthy, cruel and pointless industry?
Ratepayers and residents also deserve the right to know what their money is spent on in terms of animal welfare consequences and the racing industry's injury and death toll, but the racing industry is very ashamed of their track record here and simply don't want the people of Christchurch to know the truth.
Public money should not be wasted on propping up animal cruelty in the gambling industry. Its time the racing industry paid their own way or the track is closed permanently for humane reasons.
Please don't waste public money on relocating animal cruelty and gambling activities.
