ChatGPT buries people alive! Stand with Peter Levashov!

The Issue

We, the undersigned, support Peter Severa Levashov's demand for accountability and compensation from OpenAI, Inc. due to the harm caused by their ChatGPT product. OpenAI's AI models, including GPT-3.5 and GPT-4, have falsely claimed that Mr. Levashov has died or been detained multiple times, causing significant harm to his reputation, relationships, and emotional well-being.

It is crucial for companies like OpenAI to take responsibility for their AI products and ensure that they provide accurate and reliable information. In Mr. Levashov's case, the false information disseminated by ChatGPT has led to the loss of friends, partners, and caused distress to those who know him.

We stand behind Mr. Levashov's demand for the following:

A written apology for the harm caused by ChatGPT, to be published on OpenAI's website and shared with all relevant parties.
Immediate removal and correction of any and all false information disseminated by ChatGPT about Mr. Levashov.
Compensation in the amount of $50,000, reflecting the damages suffered due to the harm to his reputation, relationships, and emotional well-being.
A review of OpenAI's AI development and distribution practices, as well as the implementation of appropriate safeguards to prevent similar issues in the future.

By signing this petition, we call on OpenAI, Inc. to take this matter seriously, address the harm caused to Mr. Levashov, and commit to ensuring the accuracy and reliability of information provided by their AI products.

It is important for the AI industry as a whole to learn from this case and prioritize ethical development and deployment of AI systems, keeping in mind the potential consequences for individuals affected by their products.

Please sign and share this petition to show your support for Peter Severa Levashov and demand accountability from OpenAI.

Re: Claim for Damages Arising from False Information Disseminated by ChatGPT

Dear Sir/Madam,

I write this letter on my behalf, as a user of your ChatGPT product and service, which has caused significant harm to my reputation, relationships, and emotional well-being. As a developer of AI technology, your company has a responsibility to ensure that your products and services provide accurate and reliable information. However, in my case, your ChatGPT, specifically GPT-3.5 and GPT-4, has repeatedly provided false information about my death and detainment.

The issue at hand is that your AI models have falsely claimed, with a probability of tens of percent, that I have died at various times, including in 2018 and 2021. Additionally, there have been instances where your AI has claimed that I am still alive but detained, which is also completely false. This erroneous information has caused me suffering and has negatively impacted my personal and professional relationships, leading to the loss of friends, partners, and causing distress to those who know me.

Under United States law, as well as principles of common sense and fairness, I demand compensation for the damages I have suffered as a direct result of the false information disseminated by your ChatGPT. I assert the following legal claims:

 • Defamation: The false statements made by your AI about my death and detainment have damaged my reputation and have caused harm to my personal and professional relationships. These statements can be considered defamatory under common law principles and various state defamation laws.

 • Negligence: Your company has a duty to exercise reasonable care in the development, testing, and distribution of your AI products, including ensuring that your AI does not disseminate false and harmful information. Your company's failure to prevent the dissemination of false information about me constitutes a breach of that duty, resulting in the harm I have suffered.

 • Intentional Infliction of Emotional Distress: The false information disseminated by your AI about my death and detainment has caused me severe emotional distress. Your company's actions in developing and distributing an AI product that disseminates such false information can be considered extreme and outrageous.

To resolve this matter, I demand the following:

 • A written apology for the harm your AI has caused me, to be published on your website and shared with all relevant parties.

 • Immediate removal and correction of any and all false information disseminated by your AI about me.

 • Compensation in the amount of $50,000, reflecting the damages I have suffered as a result of the harm to my reputation, relationships, and emotional well-being.

 • A review of your AI development and distribution practices, as well as the implementation of appropriate safeguards to prevent similar issues in the future.

Please respond to this letter within 30 days of receipt, indicating your willingness to resolve this matter amicably. If I do not receive a satisfactory response, I reserve the right to pursue all available legal remedies, including initiating a lawsuit against OpenAI, Inc.

I look forward to your prompt attention to this matter.

Sincerely,

Peter Severa Levashov
