We are concerned about the exposure of EMF (electromagnetic fields) and the health risks they pose to our children, our staff and school community. One international, peer-reviewed study conducted from 1994-2004 revealed that living within 400 meters of a cell tower increased the risk of developing cancer by 300% (Eger, Hagen, Lucas, Vogel & Voit). Another study revealed that the effects from low exposure of EMF include: genetic, growth, and reproductive implications, increases in permeability of the blood–brain barrier; behavioral, molecular, cellular, and metabolic impact; and increases in cancer risk (B. Blake Levitt, Henry Lai; Dept. of Bioengineering, University of Washington, 2010).

Safety should be a top priority and we believe that cell towers have no place on or near school grounds where they can potentially harm our children and community.
