Council votes on Monday November 16th - not the 11th as we previously thought. Email - or better yet call - today to oppose Rezoning Petition 2020-049 and stop Industrial development from taking over our community.

Dear City Council,
I urge you to vote NO to Rezoning Petition 2020-049.
This facility will harm the quality of life, environment, and the home values of the residents of our community, and set a terrible precedent for future growth in the surrounding areas.
The most recent proposed ~50 acre land-preserve and bike paths don't solve my concerns with this proposal. The harms still greatly outweigh the good!
This facility is NOT the highest and best use of a location that could bring new life to our community, which currently lacks basic access to restaurants, groceries and retail.
Far west Charlotte has so many positive resources like Lake Wylie, the coming Light Rail, and the White Water Center, but if Industrial facilities like 2020-049 continue to be located without input from the community as to where they will fit without harm, we will all be forced out of the community we love.
The new Charlotte Future 2040 Comprehensive Plan focuses on "Creating Complete Communities and an Equitable Charlotte”, yet the 2020-049 rezoning proposal DOES NEITHER.
This rezoning proposal even goes against existing area plans that we all trusted to promote smart growth and development in our community!
Please vote no.
Sincerely,
