Oppose the development of the Mercury Project in NoDa
Oppose the development of the Mercury Project in NoDa
The Issue
We the undersigned, oppose the development of the land between 36th, Alexander, Mercury, and N. Davidson Streets as currently proposed. We do support land development on that site, but want that development to benefit positive growth and the residential neighborhoods of NoDa. To that point, we do not support a development of land that only serves to create rental apartments. Thoughtful development should include the following:
- Greenspace around the perimeter of the area and consideration for how the height and the density of the complex affect the neighboring houses, particularly along Mercury Street.
- The parking entrance located on N. Davidson St. to avoid an additional 250+ cars driving through the neighborhood.
-Retail spaces to benefit the community, i.e., stores open during daytime hours for groceries, small hardware items, healthcare products, gifts, handmade items, arts and crafts, recycled/re-purposed goods, and additional restaurants.
