The Arctic is warming at a rate of almost twice the global average. Because of climate change, the ice cover is melting rapidly, and shrinking too quickly for the animals to adapt. Polar bears, Walruses, Reindeer, Caribou, Narwhals, Belugas, and many more species are losing their home due the warming of the water and the ice melting. Also since the ice is melting and that's letting oil exploration to move north, boats are breaking ice which is breaking homes and polluting the water which is poisoning the animals and killing them. Additionally the arctic heating up is causing sea levels to rise, changes in climate and precipitation patterns, and increasing severe weather events. There needs to be urgent action to cut greenhouse gas emissions and stop oil exploration from expanding north, or it will just keep getting worse.
