When Children or Disabled Adults are neglected or abused and CPS or APS removes them from a Home for their safety, I believe all animals in that Abusive Situation should be removed for their safety and protection as well. Having spoken to Humane Officers and local Shelters, their hands are tied to come in and remove these animals even when being reported as neglected due to lack of Legislation allowing them to do so Legally. What I propose is that a Law be put into effect that when there is a Case made removing Innocent Human Lives from dangerous neglect/ abuse that the proper Agency's be contacted and given legal permission to seize all Animals from these Homes as well. If people are abusing children they certainly cannot be trusted to care for animals either. The Opiod Epidemic in Wv is reaching higher levels each year, Children being removed by CPS and placed in stable Foster Homes is at an all time high and yet nothing is done for the plight of the thousands of pets in these same homes. Let us take a stand and be a change in the lives of defenseless animals- If CPS or APS removes Humans from a Home then make a Law that Humane Officers be called and immediately remove any and all pets from danger as well.Thank you for your consideration, let us be a voice for the voiceless.
