The Issue
The Jamie mosque and Bangladeshi Community Centre in St Albans City has been experiencing tremendous amount of turmoil over the last 10 years. Regular disruption and disturbance during Friday prayers. A vast majority of youth are put off going there because of this on going situation.
The registered 500 members approximately and the wider Bangladeshi and Muslim community are fed up and angry and now demand change once and for all to be able to go to local mosque in peace free from politics, corruption, intimidation and violence.
We would like to see representation from all sections of the Bangladeshi community elders and youngsters people with good education both secular and deeni islamic knowledge who have worry and concern for the whole community including the sisters. The right people to be given the opportunity to run this establishment with transparency for future generations not for name and fame nor power or money.
We want free and fair elections without external interference. ASAP
