Why this petition matters

Started by Kailee Schuessler

Hi, I’m Kailee Schuessler. In March of 2020 my older sister Hannah Cupp who was months away from being 18 passed away from carfentanil. She had plans of going to cosmetology school and pursuing makeup for movies. She had dreams and goals that she was more than capable of pursuing. She was under the impression of the pill being a Percocet, however decided to throw it away. As she attempted to throw it away, she rubbed her nose with the hand that was holding it, she later passed away that night from her lungs filling up with fluid. The pill was left behind by her so called “boyfriend”. I am now 18 and believe that she would want me to get this justice for her, she deserves the world and I know she would do anything for me if she was still here. Our family including her dad, stepmom, our younger sister, and her friends, have been severely affected by this tragedy, and would do anything to have her back. Before it’s too late, I would really really appreciate this petition being signed and shared due to the fact that this could prevent further deaths. Fentanyl has been the cause of way too many accidental deaths and lives shouldn’t be taken this way. I would feel extremely relieved knowing the one who is responsible for this isn’t increasing the death rate because of lacing things with fentanyl. She deserves everything and more than this and this is the least I could do. It has taken me a little over 2 years to gain the courage to fight what for what I believe is best, not only because I was unsure of what Hannah would want me to do, but because I know this will be a long and hard battle , but i’m willing to take it on. Her boyfriend and possibly some others were responsible for her death but they are out roaming the streets. This petition will not affect hannah whatsoever, since we already lost her. This will help raise awareness to everyone else around that street dealers are giving this poisonous fentanyl that is stronger than heroin. She didn’t choose this , her responsible party chose for this to happen to her. I believe fentanyl lacing dealers should be charged with homicide as opposed to being free and continuing their lives with no regret while many others are losing their lives daily to these dealers actions. He is not being held responsible, and this will help get the justice she deserves.
